It is your right, for your protection or the protection of minor children, to inquire about sex offenders living or working near your home or workplace.
Where and When:
You may file a request for sex offender information at any time.
To file a request, come down to the station, fill out and sign the form, and present it to a sergeant with proof of identification.
A list will then be printed out from the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry of the convicted sex offenders in the Town of Bourne. This will list name, address and description of the offender.
To request this information you must be a resident of the Town of Bourne over 18 years old.
All requests are kept on record; your name, address, and date of birth will be recorded.
Take these requests very seriously; you will be required to swear not to use the information to harass, discriminate, or commit a crime against an offender. To do any of these things is criminal and you can be prosecuted and fined $1,000 or jailed up to 2 1/2 years.
