Key Events with Anticipated High Attendance within the Town of Bourne
Canal Music Fest - 22 Sandwich Rd - July 26, 12pm - 5pm
Parade of Lights - Full Length of the Cape Cod Canal - July 26, 9pm to Finish
Cape Cod Baseball League All Star Game - Upper Cape Technical High School 220 Sandwich Rd - July 27, 2pm - 10pm
Official 100th Anniversary Events - July 29, 1pm - 10pm with Fireworks over the railroad bridge at approximately 9pm


Parking:

A list of recommended parking areas and parking tips is available here .  All existing restrictions on parking will be enforced and vehicles may be subject to removal at the owner's expense.  THERE NO PARKING WITHIN 10 FEET OF ANY FIRE HYDRANT AND ALL EMERGENCY ACCESS GATES MUST NOT BE BLOCKED IN ANY WAY.  In addition to existing restrictions, to following additional limitations will be required to assist with the safe flow of traffic:


TAYLORS POINT: 

All roads on Taylors Point will have parking restricted to one side of the road.  Signs will be clearly posted to indicate which side of the road has the parking restriction.


BELL RD/TIDAL FLATS:

Starting at 2PM, all parking lots at the Bell Rd Tidal Flats will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking on Bell Rd will be prohibited.  Any vehicles remaining in the area after 4PM will be removed at the owner's expense. There will be no "Drop-Off" access on Bell Rd after 2PM.


MASHNEE ISLAND/MASHNEE DIKE: 

Vehicular traffic to Mashnee Island and along Mashnee Dike will be limited to residents and verifiable guests of Mashnee Island residents only.  Absolutely no parking or stopping will be allowed on Mashnee Dike.  Any vehicles parked in the area will be removed at the owners expense.  There will be no "Drop-Off" access in the area of Mashnee Dike west of Warren Rd. Officers will be in the area to enforce these restrictions.


ARMORY RD:

No Parking either side, Brewster St to National Guard Armory.  One Side (South side) parking only, Brewster St to St. Margarets St.

Only EMERGENCY VEHICLES will be allowed after Brewster St.


EVERETT RD:

No Parking on south side of road from Perry Ave to Old Bridge Rd (parking allowed on north side of road).


OLD BRIDGE RD:

No Parking on east side of road, from Canal Service Rd to Main St.  No parking both sides from Honora Ln to Canal Service Rd.  No parking within 10 feet of any fire hydrant.  No parking in front of emergency access gate.


TIDEWAY RD:

No parking at intersection with Wenaumet Bluff Dr (emergency access for Fire Department).


PRESIDENTS RD:

One side parking only.  Parking prohibited on posted side.


ALL OTHER AREAS:

Any existing posted parking restrictions and town parking laws will be enforced. 


SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRAFFIC LEAVING BUZZARDS BAY PARK/TRAVELLING ON MAIN ST AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE FIREWORKS


At the conclusion of the fireworks, officers will be directing traffic to assist with a safe and efficient exit from the area.  Unless otherwise directed, the following traffic plan will be in place.


The following vehicles will be directed to travel WEST on Main St and must utilize the RTE 6/28 Bypass via the West Rotary to return eastbound:

  • All vehicles exiting onto Main St from Buzzards Bay Park using the WEST EXIT (closest to Wareham/Academy Dr)
  • All vehicles turning onto Main St from Academy Drive
  • All vehicles turning onto Main St from Washington Ave

The following vehicles will be directed to travel EAST on Main St and must utilize the RTE 6/28 Bypass via St. Margarets St to return westbound:

  • All vehicles exiting onto Main St from Buzzards Bay Park using the EAST EXIT (closest to the Marine Wildlife Center)

NO TRAFFIC FROM THE WEST ROTARY WILL BE ALLOWED ONTO MAIN ST.  ALL WEST ROTARY TRAFFIC HEADING EAST WILL BE DIRECTED ONTO THE RTE 6/28 BYPASS.


Medical Services:

The Bourne Fire Department will have medical aid tents set up in the following locations:

Mass Maritime Academy in the area of the cafeteria

Bourne Fire Station #1 at #130 Main Street

Mashnee Dike near Spin Drift Lane.
